History of Campsie Golf Club

“Willie Auchterlonie, who in 1893 was the last home-based Scot to have won the Open Championship, has another claim to fame.  The St Andrean also designed the original nine hole Campsie course at Lennoxtown for the no expense spared fee of five guineas, and admiring his own work afterwards, he remarked that it had the makings of one of the best inland courses in Scotland”
